Frontier programs

Beyond client engagements, the Agency runs applied and open research at the edge of AI and quantum systems: machine learning that runs on the device instead of the cloud, and room-temperature quantum sensing built from first principles. Much of the work is public.

These programs are how the Agency stays ahead of the tools it deploys for clients. The same edge-AI methods that pull signal out of quantum noise are what make on-premise, low-latency inference practical inside a Canadian enterprise.

QuantumFuse
A room-temperature quantum vibrometer: optical-tweezer atomic sensing with on-device ML denoising that pulls sub-nanometer signal out of shot noise, no cryogenics required. FPGA and ESP32 hybrid control, DDS pulse generation, and atomic-fluorescence readout.
